ABSTRACT

Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF-1) is a congenital neuroectodermal disorder that causes mesodermal dysplasia. NF-1 is characterized by skin, nervous system, soft-tissue and osseous lesions. Dural ectasia is often idiopathic; it can be seen with connective tissue diseases such as NF-1, Marfan syndrome, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, ankylosing spondylitis, achondroplasia and adult-type polycystic kidney disease. In this study, we present the imaging findings in a patient diagnosed with NF-1 associated with dural ectasia and giant lateral meningocele.
