ABSTRACT

Introduction:

PAI-1 levels are important plays in metastasis of cancer.

Methods:

In our study, we investigated of the plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) in 66 patients with colon cancer and 50 healthy volunteers. We were determined by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) of the PAI-1.

Results:

We were found higher of the PAI-1 levels in all patients and in patients with liver metastasis than controls and in patients without liver metastasis.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, we suggested that PAI-1 levels may be a useful prognostic marker for colon cancer.
