SummaryAim: Recently, sonohysterography has increasing value in detecting endometrial pathologies. In this study, our aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of sonohysterography in detecting the pathology within the endometrium and intracavitary lesions.Methods: Saline infusion sonohisterography had been performed in 48 premenopausal or postmenopausal women with abnormal vaginal bleeding and endometrial thickening. Probe curettage was done to all patients evaluated with sonohysterography. In addition, histopathologic diagnosis of histerectomised women was evaluated. Findings: The sensitivity of sonohsterography in detecting the pathology within the endometrium and intracavitary lesions was detected as 80%, its specificity as 94%, false negativity as 20%, false positivity as 6%, positive predictive value as 86%, negative predictive value as 91%. Conclusion: Finally we found that sonohisterography was a sensitive, specific and predictive test in detecting the pathology within the endometrium and intracavitary lesions.Key words: Sonohysterography, endometrial pathology
